Linda Shafer, Chair
Linda Shafer currently works as the Executive Director for the Railyard Stewards, a nonprofit organization responsible for the horticultural care and public programming for the award-winning Railyard Park & Plaza, a 13-acre urban park in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico. With extensive development, fundraising, and strategic planning experience, her professional positions have included: Director of Development and Strategic Alliances for the National Business Incubation Association in Athens, OH, in Santa Fe, as the Director of Development for the Southwestern Association of Indian Arts (SWAIA), the largest Native American art market in the US; Senior Spanish Market Event Manager at the Spanish Colonial Art Society; and Associate Director at New Mexico’s Own, an economic development nonprofit supporting small business product development.
Gary Ferrini, Vice Chair
Gary Ferrini is a retired academic and business consultant. Prior to joining the board at BMF, he was a member of the research faculty at NYU in Interactive Telecommunications; a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder in Sociology; the marketing director and research development director for the first IVF company to develop an objective analysis system for male infertility; and a consultant for various Fortune 500 companies. Before that, Mr. Ferrini also lived and worked with children who were wards of the state, and captained sailing yachts for hire in the Caribbean. He brings to the board a lifelong interest and skill set in education and business with an emphasis on revisiting how our children are educated from Kindergarten through graduate schools.
Tatiana Calvo, Secretary
Tatiana Calvo has a JD from Chicago Kent College of Law and a Bachelors from University of Wisconsin-Madison in International Relations & Spanish. She was admitted to the bar in 2007. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Calvo practiced immigration law, defending Mexican-Americans from deportation and helping families immigrate to the U.S. She lived two years in Peru, training in higher consciousness with Hamilton Souther. She brings a strong background in law and administration to the BMF as well as a passion for its mission.
Robert Sprague, Treasurer
Robert Sprague has thirty years of successful marketing experience, serving as a consultant to the National Main Street Center where he provided marketing advice to over 8,000 independent businesses. Mr. Sprague held senior positions at The Gap Stores and Paymentech and served as the Director of Planning and Economic Development for the City of St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1990, Mr. Sprague convinced the federal Department of Housing to transfer $26M earmarked for low income housing to his “Houses to Homes” program, resulting in the refurbishment of 1,700 abandoned dwellings into homes for lower-middle class workers.
Gil Oren, Director
Gil Oren is a global entrepreneur, coach and trainer. He has 15 years in international business management with an expertise in strategic planning and business development; he has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and North America. Mr. Oren currently is serving as a board member in several international companies as an advisor and investor. Previously he served as President of Tiny Love USA, President and founder of Shilav USA Inc., and Marketing Director of Euro RSCG. He holds an MBA from the Netherlands Business School.

Harry Pepper, Ph.D.
Dr. Pepper is a Psychologist and the Director of Adult Programming at Common Ground – The Cindy Nord Center for Renewal, a non-profit organization offering programming and retreats related to conscious living and leadership. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Kent State University in 1996 in their APA-Accredited Counseling Psychology program and completed an APA-Accredited Internship at Ball State University Counseling Center.
Bob Gribble, Ph.D.
Dr. Gribble worked as a consulting staff psychologist with The Cleveland Clinic, maintaining an outpatient psychotherapy practice for many years. He earned his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Kent State University having interned at the Cleveland VA Medical Center and completing a post-doctoral fellowship in Health Psychology at the Cleveland Clinic. His doctoral work culminated in his dissertation on Vocational Identity and Life Span Development.
